Transfer Credit
Policy & Information
Lifepoint College will evaluate courses and degrees from accredited college institutions for possible transfer of credit for degree-seeking students. A review of the courses must indicate a reasonable parallel in scope and content between the courses completed at the original institution and the courses currently offered at Lifepoint College.
Transfer of Lifepoint College Credit to Other Institutions
The transferability of credits earned at Lifepoint College is at the discretion of the receiving college, university, or other educational institution. Students considering transferring to any institution should not assume that credits earned at Lifepoint College will be accepted by the receiving institution. To minimize the risk of having to repeat coursework, students should contact the receiving institution in advance for evaluation and determination of transferability of credits and/or acceptability of degrees, diplomas, or certificates earned.
Request Transfer Credit
To initiate a transfer credit evaluation:
Contact the previous institution(s) you have attended and request that official transcripts be sent to Lifepoint College. No formal transfer credit evaluation can be made without official, unopened transcripts. In some cases, you may be asked to provide additional information about your coursework to complete the evaluation.
Complete the Transfer Credit Request Form below and submit it to Lifepoint College.
Transcripts must be received by the end of the student’s first semester to be eligible for evaluation. Students will receive written notification about the results of the transfer credit evaluation, including which courses (if any) from the previous institution(s) were accepted and which Lifepoint College courses do not need to be completed. Students should request this written notification if it is not received by the end of their first semester.
